Abstract: | The goal of High Resolution Audio is to allow the listener to hear exactly what the artist has been hearing in the studio while creating music. The wide availability of low cost mass storage and high Internet bandwidth allows consumers to access music recordings using High Resolution Audio technology. This presentation will discuss how High Resolution Audio recordings differ from available CD and MP3 recordings, what equipment is required for proper playback of High Resolution Audio recordings, and how the quality requirements affect the design of players, D/A converters, amplifiers, headphones and speakers. slides |

Speaker’s Bio: | Sergio Liberman has more than 29 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in design and architecture of over 22 chips including DSP processors, digital-to-analog converters, Class-D audio amplifiers and SoC application processors. These devices have been used in digital audio systems for consumer, professional, and automotive applications. Sergio holds two patents in high-performance audio digital-to-analog converter design, and has authored over 15 technical publications. Sergio holds a B.Sc. EE from Tel-Aviv University. |
