Topic:Automation Engineering and the Role of RFID
Abstract:Automation engineering is a field we encounter, as expected, in industrial applications, but it also plays a role in our everyday life.  Controls of all kind are part of our life.  Computers with or without robotic integration determine the quality of our experiences when our desires lead us to use technology.  Optimizing the interaction requires sensing of direct and indirect entities, accessing and processing information, followed by execution of appropriate steps.  These are the basic components, and goal, of automation engineering. We will discuss the basics of automation engineering, including what, why, and how.  Then we will introduce the concept of RFID and its applications in this field.
