Speaker’s Bio:Rick D. Strong, P.E. joined the Texas Board of Professional Engineers in April 2017 as the Director of Licensing. As the Director of the Licensing Division, he oversees the review of all PE applications, Firm registrations, EIT certifications and renewals in the State of Texas. The Licensing division reviews more than 3,000 PE applications per year and handles the renewals for close to 64,000 licensed Texas PEs and approximately 10,400 registered engineering Firms.He has 31 years of experience in the Texas coal mining industry; he is knowledgeable in all aspects of mining engineering and mine operations. Rick has been a licensed professional engineer in Texas since 1992.He is a 1985 graduate from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.He resides in the Austin area with his wife Cindy. They enjoy their large family of six grown children and seven grandchildren.
