The Antikythera Mechanism is an ancient Greek Mechanical Computer, often called the first Computer. Designed and build around 205 to 60BC. It was found in 1901.
Speaker:Kurt Baty
Speaker’s Bio:Kurt Baty is a Life Member of the IEEE, has 44 years’ experience in the
electronics industry and has been, since 1988, an independent design consultant.
His client list includes many large companies: NCR, HP, Nortel, Synopsys,
Lucent and NEC. He has also worked with a number of startup companies
these include Stratus Computer, LANcity, Aware, 0-in, Argon Networks,
Cimaron Communications, Neteffect and Everspin Technologies.
He has worked on: 54 ASICs, list of patents, the first Cable Modem chips,
the first 100Mbit ethernet chip, the first core internet router chip,
and the first hardware transendental function IP(s).

Kurt lives with his wife of 42 years on their acreage on Lake Travis outside
of Austin, Texas.
