Abstract:	The COVID Pandemic’s Impact on Tech Jobs- Consulting & Full Time Where do you go when it’s March, 2020, unemployment is at record lows (3.9%), particularly in tech (1.9%), and the Demand constantly outstrips supply? Those were questions we were asking ourselves early this year until COVID punched all of us in the mouth. Having experienced two significant external impacts on the labor sector, we found ourselves asking if this one would look more like the aftermath of 9/11, the financial crisis, or some new monster. Nearly 8 months into the Pandemic, it’s our belief that we are closer to the finish line than the starting point. What did the initial reaction do to our business? How has the tech market rebounded? What positives have resulted from this particular punch in the face? Are consultants faring better than their direct colleagues? What does the data tell us about skills are most recession resistant from our perspective? How will this pandemic permanently alter hiring going forward? What can we get excited about as we look to 2021? We’ll discuss these topics and answer any questions you might have.

Speaker’s Bio:	David Smith is a is the Founder & COO of Triple Crown Consulting. He has 24+ years of experience in the Technical Staffing sector with a specific focus on Electrical Engineering and Computer Science verticals. He started Triple Crown Consulting with Sabatino Guerriero and two other investors in 2004 with a Candidate Centered focus on finding consulting opportunities. Most Triple Crown competitors are client centric. Of course, clients are important, but Triple Crown has always and will continue to always focus on the candidate first. Since inception in 2004 in Austin, TX, Triple Crown has grown to over 100 staffing professionals and added locations in Scottsdale, AZ, San Jose, CA, Costa Mesa, CA, Portsmouth, NH, and Durham, NC. Triple Crown employs nearly 400 technical consultants and occasionally will help a customer solve a direct hire problem. Prior to Triple Crown, Sab & Dave held various roles in various locations with Oxford Global Resources, now a division of ON Assignment. It was there they both experienced 9/11 and its aftermath as Division Managers on the West Coast. Dave has a BA in History from Williams College where he played football and started his life as a parent sooner than he should have.
