Abstract: | Mr. Daniels will speak on the topic of “Legendary Engineering Success Stories.” In particular, he will tell the story of the Motorola 68HC11 Microcontroller, highlighting the contributions of technology, system and circuit design, marketing, manufacturing and management. He will compare this story to that of another legendary engineering success, the B17. Slides |

Speaker’s Bio: | Gary Daniels is a retired Motorola Senior Vice President and Microcontroller Division General Manager. Gary earned a BSEE degree from the University of New Mexico and continued graduate studies at the Arizona State University. His professional career included 6 years at Sandia National Labs, 32 years at Motorola Semiconductor, 10 years as an ECE adjunct professor at the University of Texas, 10 years on the Board of Directors of National Instruments, 4 years as a member of the Texas Advisory Committee on Research, and 2 years as a consultant for Silicon Labs. Currently, Mr. Daniels is on the advisory board, and is a part-time contributing engineer, at GIT Satellite Communications. |
