Our own outgoing IEEE Houston Executive Chair, Alice Wang, was awarded the Volunteer Appreciation Award, at the recent EXCOM leadership retreat.
Alice has been with IEEE and has volunteered with the Houston Section for over a decade. She began with IEEE at the student branch of Texas A&M University. In 2010 Alice was the IEEE Young Engineer of the Year award recipient. During 2014-2015 Alice was the Houston Section Secretary. From 2016-2017 she was the Vice Chair. From 2018-2019 Alice served as both the Houston Section Chair, and as the Houston Women In Engineering (WIE) Chair. One of the top achievements during Alice’s tenure as the Houston Section Chair was that the section was awarded the Silver Award for Outstanding Recruitment Performance in 2019. In addition to her work with IEEE, Alice has also served as a Committee Member for the Offshore Technology Conference from 2012 – 2017.
Alice has enjoyed a rewarding career in the upstream oil and gas industry. She is currently a Senior Software Engineer for Weatherford International.
