We are the Houston Section’s community for anyone passionate about growing, supporting, and elevating women in engineering and technology. As part of the global IEEE Women in Engineering network, we exist to connect, support, and inspire women and girls—and to facilitate their recruitment and retention in STEM—all in service of technology that benefits humanity.

What We Do
The Houston Women in Engineering group supports women across all stages of their engineering journey through a variety of technical and leadership development programs. We aim to foster meaningful connections through virtual, in-person and cross‑chapter collaborations, creating a vibrant network within the Houston tech community.
Who Should Join
Students – Find mentors, explore fields, build your resume through IEEE projects, and gain confidence presenting your work.
Early‑Career & Experienced Professionals – Grow your technical and leadership impact, expand your network, and step into visible volunteer and speaking roles.
Allies & Advocates – Help us remove barriers, sponsor events, and open doors. WIE welcomes all who share the mission.
How to Get Involved
- Say hello. Email our Affinity Group Chair (see volunteer roster) to introduce yourself, ask questions, or propose an idea (or you can complete the Houston WIE Survey to let us know how you would like to get involved!)
- Join IEEE WIE. Add WIE to your IEEE membership or become a new member to access the full spectrum of programs and leadership pathways. Join WIE
