Jeremy Feland Wins 2018 Houston Section IEEE Scholarship

Scholarship RecipientJeremy Feland, a junior Biomedical student at Texas A&M University, and TAMU IEEE Student Branch member, has been awarded the IEEE Houston Section 2018 scholarship.   Jeremy was selected from a pool of 15 high achieving candidates.    As an aspiring doctor, Jeremy hopes to use the scholarship to continue his undergraduate studies.

e scholarship is the culmination of a year long effort of fund raising, application processing, selection, and awarding.  The scholarship work is accomplished by many dedicated IEEE Houston section volunteers and sponsors.  Both the annual IEEE Houston Section golf tournament and the Eaton company were major sponsors for the 2018 scholarship.   Applications for the 2019 scholarship are now being accepted and will be due by the end of August 2019.  To be eligible,

a student must either be an IEEE member, or the child of an IEEE member, and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study in an engineering or science field.   An application packet for the 2019 scholarship can be downloaded from the Houston section website.

The Section provides planning and funding support to assure Chapters have vibrant programs to support members’ careers and meet the IEEE mission of Advancing Technology for Humanity.
