Seminar: “Who Moved The Cheese?”

On Thursday, November 30, 2017 volunteers from the IEEE Houston Section facilitated a seminar “Who Moved the Cheese?” in partnership with PVAMU College of Engineering. Dr. Sarhan Musa, Professor and Director of the Prairie View A&M University AVAYA Networking Academy (PVNA) asked IEEE volunteer facilitators CB Sanderson and Kevin White to share their experiences “How to be successful After you Graduate from the University.

The seminar approach was based on the #1 Best Seller book “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Dr. Spencer Johnson. It’s a parable that takes place in a maze, and the changes in one’s work and life. The four typical reactions to those changes by two mice and two “little people,” during their hunt for cheese.

In the seminar the students learned the importance of understanding:

  • Professional organization such as IEEE and others.
  • Trending technology and education fields as it relates to Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology.
  • Importance of professional brand awareness on platforms like LinkedIn.
  • Understanding messages from “The Handwriting On The Wall
