Hakima Ibaroudene, Research and Development Manager, Southwest Research Institute
With 20 years of experience in basic and applied research, Hakima Ibaroudene has a strong track record of leading cutting-edge projects at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI). She currently manages the Bioinformatics section within the Artificial Intelligence Department and leads the Medical AI program area in the Intelligent Systems Division. The Medical AI program is focused on leveraging artificial intelligence to address complex challenges in the medical domain.
In addition to her leadership at SwRI, Ms. Ibaroudene is an adjunct faculty member at both the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSC), where she collaborates with domain experts to extend SwRI’s healthcare initiatives, and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where she contributes to research in electrical engineering. Her extensive expertise bridges AI, bioinformatics, and medical research, driving innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration across the field.
