Advances in technology have driven increased connectivity and distribution of ICS and OT networks. As demonstrated by recent cyber-attacks, this has increased the attack surface and risks of cybersecurity compromise. Effectively, and safely, addressing these cybersecurity risks requires an understanding of the real-time, availability, and safety requirements of these systems. The focus of the presentation will be on defining ICS and OT networks, contrasting them with traditional IT networks, and presenting some cybersecurity best practices that can be applied throughout the entire lifecycle.
