05 May, 2019
Abstract:
Consulting on patent litigation is a combination of language interpretation and technical evaluation, testing, writing and instruction, all set in the context of a legal system and a myriad of personalities. This IEEE talk will introduce the basics of patent litigation and discuss select projects that demonstrate technical facets of such consulting activities, including claim interpretation and developing appropriate product testing strategies. Dr. Fernald will also share real-life situations and challenges he’s encountered in his 13+ years working on such projects.
