Tuesday, June 28th 2022 “Using Digital Innovations and Technologies to Improve Renewable Energy Operations Efficiency”
On Tuesday, June 28th 2022, IEEE (PI)2 Austin hosted a Technical Meeting via WebEx and In-Person, on “Using Digital Innovations and Technologies to Improve Renewable Energy Operations Efficiency”
Samantha Mullin and Ray Manzanilla of RWE Renewables spoke about the culture change associated with digital innovation. Just as important as the new technology is the need to help the end-users, or “operations colleagues” become comfortable using the new tech. This can include providing early access to advanced data solutions, and giving the team the space to collaborate and experiment with new technologies in Beta phase to provide their honest feedback on usability and fit for purpose. RWE is redefining their digital project delivery capability, using input from end-users to guide a collaborative rollout with Site Operations. They took questions from in-person and on-line attendees in a lively discussion after the presentation
