On Friday, April 20^th, 2018 Atec, Inc. representatives and IEEE members joined together at Mongoose v. Cobra for a happy hour event. This event was corporate-sponsored, the first of its kind hosted by IEEE Houston, and Atec sponsored the food for the event.

The IEEE HOU Young Professionals (YP) Chair, Moriah Hargrove Anders, spearheaded the coordination of the bar with Atec representative, Kristen Gaustad. Both are very happy with how the event turned out, and how easy coordinating the event was with Mongoose vs. Cobra. There are plans to repeat this event in the near future due to its success.

Once attendees made it to the bar, after fighting rush hour traffic on a Friday, everyone was invited to wear a nametag and mingle with Atec representatives. Attendees had the chance to learn more about Atec’s mission and engineering job roles. Attendees also had the chance to win a free TV. Charles P. an electrical engineering student at University of Houston – Downtown won the TV, as pictured below.
