The University of Texas at Tyler Houston Engineering Center ROV
On Thursday, April 21st, 2022 I had the opportunity to visit the UT Tyler Houston Engineering Center and attend “The Order Of The Engineer” and visit the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Expo.
The Order of the Engineer is an association for graduate and professional engineers in the United States that emphasizes pride and responsibility in the engineering profession. It was inspired by the success of the Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer, a similar and much older Canadian ceremony, and is a common presence in American engineering schools like UT Tyler Houston Engineering Center.
I would like to say congratulations to a few IEEE UT Tyler Houston Student Branch Members for your “The Order Of The Engineer” achievement:
I also had the opportunity to attend the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Senior Design Expo where the Robotics teams exhibited their Remote Operator Vehicle (ROV) Underwater Robotics results with a poster presentation from the 2022 GreenTech Conference and Regional 5 Meeting Student Competition. The completion was more than competing against other student branches but a learning lesson in leadership, teamwork, and accountability.
