Subsection Mission/Vision/Goals/Outreach
The following are Mission, Vision, and Goals were approved by the ExComm on April 18, 2019, with input from members and various stakeholders.
Mission – What we do
- Foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity through advancement of the engineering profession in the Black Hills Area
Vision – What we want to look like to our stakeholders
- A valued resource to engineering students and industry
Goals – Actionable and Measureable, Supportive of the Mission and Vision
- Deliver five à eight technical/professional membership & student meeting opportunities during the year
- Up to four between August and December
- Up to four between January and April
- Establish collaboration mechanisms with organizations, e.g. Elevate Rapid City, students, and Engineering networking groups in the Black Hills area to help advance professional and economic development
- Engaging IEEE Black Hills subsection members in vision and mission
- Exposing engineering students to opportunities in the Black Hills
- Support business incubator and entrepreneur facilities through Black Hills Subsection mentoring and engagement contributions
- Create a useful Black Hills Subsection website for local communications
- Incent one new/different member for the Black Hills Subsection ExComm annually
- Have at least two Black Hills Subsection ExComm members on each IEEE R5 MGA monthly call, taking notes and providing highlights to the ExCom
