IEEE PI2 AUSTIN, MARCH 2024 TECH MEETING: RETROFIT VS RIP & REPLACE – WHEN IS THE RIGHT CHOICE?

Balcones Country Club 8600 Balcones Club Dr, Austin

Register Here Topic: Retrofit VS Rip & Replace - When is it the Right Choice? With the lead-time of new gear in todays market, we can typically provide a retrofit solution in half the time. The existing site has already made an investment in their existing gear that can be built on instead of being replaced. The alternative to retrofitting your gear when making a decision is paying a premium for expediting new gear. Retrofitting can be recommended for a number of reasons, timeline of the project, location of the gear (basement with limited access, rooftop etc…), the space requirement per new code for clearances, changing out the gear would require more space so walls have to come down. There are way more reasons to chose retrofitting than just cost.
