"A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon" NASA's Apollo Program Frank Hughes Retired NASA Chief of Space Flight Training Thursday, July 18 Come join our dinner presentation celebrating NASA & 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11- the first manned lunar landing! This year on July 20, 2019 marked the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. Make sure to watch a short 2-min youtube video Apollo: Missions to the Moon. Frank Hughes, retired NASA Chief of Space Flight Training, currently with Tietronix Software, Inc. Mr. Hughes has worked for more than 50 years in the NASA Johnson Space Center area. He worked on astronaut and flight controller training throughout his NASA career of 33 years. At retirement, Hughes was Chief of Space Flight Training. He spent his technical and managerial years finding innovations to improve training for space flight. Since retirement, Hughes has taken many NASA technologies to utilize them in the classroom to enhance the education experience of children as well as adults. Advance ticket sales start this week and end at midnight on Tuesday, July 16. You can purchase tickets for the event through Brown Paper Tickets. Additional information is also available through the ASME South Texas Section website. Regular tickets are $35. Student tickets are $15. Tickets at the door are $50, CASH OR CHECK ONLY. Membership is encouraged but not required to attend. Professional Development Hour (PDH) certificates will be available to participants at the conclusion of the event.
