IEEE R5 EXCOM Reception Sponsored by HOU Sec.
On Friday, January 25, 2019 the IEEE Houston Section welcomed the Region 5 EXCOM team to Houston, TX. Houston is home to the Houston Texans, Rockets, Astros, Dynamo and IEEE Houston Section and we were honoured to host the Region 5 EXCOM with a networking reception. The reception was intended to give Houston Section members, Societies Chairs, and Student Branch faculty the opportunity to meet Region 5 leadership and discuss where support and guidance may be needed on IEEE Initiatives and Programs.
It was a great opportunity for all IEEE Members and Houston Section Corporate partners to meet. “The reception was a great time to play a networking game as well called Connect the Dots.” says Christopher Sanderson, R5 South Area Chair and HOU Sec. Vice-Chair. All of the registered attendees had special designated dots to help stimulate conversations around 4 areas.
Thank you to Alice Wang, Houston Section Chair and the rest of the HOU Sec. EXCOM in participating and helping in the reception. We all get caught up in day-to-day activities where we work, but it’s important to network and expand your base of knowledge in order to bring new thought processes and insights into play.
