Have you heard about IEEE Day? IEEE Day this year falls on October 2.
And this year, you can really soar to new heights with IEEE Houston Section!

To celebrate this very special day, we have partnered up with IFLY to offer our members a very special treat! Our special package will cost HALF of iFly’s normal price. And of course, because you’re flying with IEEE, it will be sales-tax free too!

Here’s how it works, you will pay $20 to register for the event. On the day itself, when you arrive, you will pay the
remainder $15. So, your total cost is $35 (no tax). Which is half of iFly’s regular rate.
The program will begin with a technical tour and briefing of the facility and wind tunnel. Followed by
“flight training”, where the instructors will teach you the correct posture to have when in the wind
tunnel.
You will then be flying – individually; guided by the instructor.
After everyone has flown, the instructor will conduct some interesting aerodynamics experiments in the
wind tunnel – involving balls of different sizes, and shooting streams of water.
We will then proceed to a debriefing room where the technical instructor will debrief the group,
followed by food and refreshments. Everyone will go home with an iFly bag and an iFly T-shirt.

HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART:

There will be a RAFFLE draw. 15 lucky winners will have their $15 refunded to them (effectively costing
just $20) and special edition IEEE Day 2018 T-shirts will also be raffled. We will all gather in front of the
wind tunnel to pose for a group photo. Videos will also be taken when the group is “in flight”.
All photos and videos will be submitted to the ieeeday.org site – and with some luck, our pictures will be
the ones replacing the ones currently on the site!
