IEEE Houston Section Chairman and South Area Chair for Region 5 Christopher Sanderson has been awarded the IEEE-USA John Meredith Professional Service Award. The John Meredith Professional service award is named in the memory and honor of Mr. John Meredith, who was the 2007 IEEE-USA President, and a tireless IEEE volunteer. This award is given to an individual member based on outstanding efforts and successful achievements in advancing the professional objectives of IEEE-USA, including contributions to the public good and achievements related to advancing the social, economic, legal, ethical, and public policy interests of IEEE’s U.S. members or significantly enhancing the effectiveness of the organization and its recognition.
David Iams, the IEEE-USA Senior Manager made this statement about Chris winning the award:

Christopher is an Account Manager with HV Sales, Inc. a leading regional electrical equipment manufacturers representative firm based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He has more than 26 years of professional experience to his credit, with 21 years of practical industry experience in the Electrical Industry. He has worked for some of the most recognized electrical solutions manufactures like ABB, Siemens, General Electric, Schneider Electric, and Mobil Chemical to name a few.
Chris was also the recipient of the IEEE R5 Jim Leonard Outstanding Member Award in 2019.

Christopher has been an active volunteer with the Houston Section of IEEE for the past nine years.
