Medium Voltage Drives

March 10 @ 5:30 pm - March 11 @ 9:00 pm CDT

Two Night Seminar Covering Medium Voltage Drives
This course is geared towards practicing electrical, control and instrument engineers who perform engineering on facilities within the process industries.
Abstract: Medium voltage controllers play a critical role in managing motor performance, reliability, and system efficiency across industrial applications. This presentation will provide a practical overview of key controller technologies—including traditional starters, soft starters, and adjustable speed drives—highlighting their operating principles and application considerations. Attendees will gain insight into controller selection criteria, motor starting assessments, and integration strategies that ensure compatibility with electrical systems and process requirements. Emphasis will be placed on balancing performance, protection, and cost-effectiveness while addressing challenges such as power quality, load characteristics, and system coordination. The session is designed to equip engineers, operators, and decision-makers with actionable knowledge for optimizing motor control solutions in medium voltage environments.
