Overview
This webinar will explore the nexus between sustainability and careers. Presenter Marilyn Waite will explore concepts pertinent to professionals with engineering backgrounds and/or working in STEM fields. Using the SURF Framework that Marilyn developed and professional narratives specific to STEM, attendees will leave with a better understanding of how they can incorporate sustainability into their job tasks and career trajectory. The webinar will also highlight the benefits of pursuing sustainability in careers.
About the Presenter
Marilyn Waite’s vision is a world where sustainability values of social cohesion, environmental consciousness, intergenerational equity, and economic health drive decision-making and business practices. An engineer and author of Sustainability at Work, she has addressed audiences worldwide on sustainability in careers, textiles, water, and energy. Marilyn holds a Master’s Degree with distinction in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering (magna cum laude) from Princeton University. Marilyn currently leads the energy practice at Village Capital, serves on the Board of Directors for Engineers for a Sustainable World and is a Senior Research Fellow at Paul Hawken’s Project Drawdown.
