IEEE HOU YP in 2nd Annual TPE Conference

On February 8th – 9th, IEEE Student Branches at Texas A&M University coordinated and hosted the second annual Texas Power and Energy Conference (TPEC). The conference, organized by the IEEE PES-PELS-IAS Joint Student Branches at Texas A&M University, brought together participants from industry and academia to shape research and development in the field of electric power engineering all over the world. TPEC features a variety of technical presentations, keynote speakers, and other interesting events to promote discussion of the future for electric power technology in Texas and beyond.

As part of the conference, coordinators hosted a poster session and an IEEE Houston Young Professionals (YP) networking meet-up. At the YP meet up, conference attendees within the first 15 years of their careers joined together to discuss the poster session, drink coffee, and ask each other questions.

Graduate students, Ana Ospina and Tamara Becejac, were instrumental in the event planning and the IEEE Houston YP Chair, Moriah Hargrove Anders, is happy with their enthusiasm to include a YP meet-up on their conference schedule. Attendees had a great time at the networking meet-up and, as evidenced by the photos, had great conversations.
