Congratulations to Mr. Ricardo Ramirez!
Ricardo currently works as an Engineer for National Oilwell Varco developing asset tracking devices and condition based maintenance systems.
Ricardo Received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2000. He also received a couple of Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas in 2005 and 2012 respectively.
He currently is pursuing a PhD degree at the University of Texas carrying out research related to systems based on nanostructures and metamaterials. His research interests also include neuromorphic architectures and cognitive radio.
Mr. Ricardo Ramirez, P.E. Young Engineer Of the Year 2014 In the past, he worked as an R&D Engineer for several startups and US Department of Defense subcontractors developing embedded systems. He also was part of the scientific collaboration at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Ricardo is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
Ricardo currently serves as the editor for the IEEE Houston section’s eNewsletter (the Pocket Scope). He also contributes as an editor for the social media outlets of the section. Ricardo has also served in a couple of technical papers committees for both IEEE and INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering).
