Calling on all HOU Sec. Student Branches to participate in the IEEE R5 Student Paper Competition. 

IEEE Region 5 invites undergraduate students at university Student Branches and Eta Kappa Nu Chapters to submit a
paper to one of the 26 Local IEEE Region 5 Student Paper Competitions by November 26, 2018.

Written papers should related to technical, engineering, management, or societal aspects of any subjects relevant to
science engineering and technology are invited. The top two papers from each of the 26 Local Student Paper
Competition will be advanced to one of the four IEEE Region 5 Area Student Paper Competition by January 18, 2019.

The top three papers in each of the four IEEE Region 5 Area Student Paper Competition will be advanced to the IEEE
Region 5 Student Paper Competition by February 4, 2019.

One author of each of the Student Papers selected to compete in the IEEE Region 5 Student Paper Competition will be
invited to attend the IEEE Region 5 Student Paper Competition to make a presentation and defend their paper. Authors
selected to compete in the IEEE Region 5 Student Paper Competition must register for the IEEE Region 5 Student
Conference using the discount code provided them by March 6, 2019 to be eligible to compete.

The IEEE Region 5 Student Registration Fee and Travel Expenses of the author of each of the student papers selected to
compete at the IEEE Region 5 Student Paper Competition will be fully reimbursed based on the IEEE Region 5 Travel
Guidelines. A copy of the travel guidelines and all necessary expense reimbursement forms are available for download.
