Navigating Office Politics – Michele Tesciuba
On April 26, 2018 Michele Tesciuba gave a presentation titled Navigating Office Politics to the IEEE Technical Meeting held at HESS Club. Michele has her own consulting company 3MT Consulting Services. She is a passionate professional who believes in coaching and mentoring individuals to deliver business results.
Michele Tesciuba did her Bachelors from UCLA and Masters from MIT, both in Mechanical Engineering. Later she did Masters in Management for the Oil and Gas Industry from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. She started her career in Schlumberger and served there in various roles.
During the presentation, she shared some interesting facts about developing strategies to recognize and understanding political behavior at work. She further emphasized on how one can learn to navigate the politics of workplace with better communication and keeping calm.
After the presentation, IEEE members discussed with Michele about the problems caused by miscommunication in office politics.
In the same event, Xiaoyang Rebecca Li, a PhD student of Electrical & Computer Engineering, University of Houston shared her impressive research work on Computational Mapping of Rat Brain Cytoarchitectonics using Multiplex Biomarker Imaging and Quantitative Analysis with IEEE members. The event had a great turnout and everyone enjoyed their dinner along with the talk.
