On 22 June 2024, the IEEE MGA Board approved the recipients of Individual and Organizational Supporting Friend of IEEE MGA Awards. SwRI was recognized for its support of Lone Star Section. The citation reads:

“For long and outstanding support of IEEE through paid volunteer time, membership subsidies, direct financial support, and in-kind contributions”
