About Our Chapter of the Electronics Packaging Society

Motivation

At the core of our motivation is the continued support, advancement, and fulfillment of the IEEE EPS mission. Currently, there is no representation of IEEE EPS in Region 5. As this is one of the largest IEEE Regions in the United States, we are enthusiastically driven, in seizing this opportunity, to establish a new Chapter. We are fortunate to be geographically and strategically located in one of the most prosperous and growing technology hubs in the US, fueled by the region’s leading academic institutions, research establishments, and technological enterprises or companies including semiconductor corporations involved in IC packaging assembly and test.

Purpose

Our Chapter’s purpose shall be scientific, literary, and educational in character. We will facilitate Society members with valuable opportunities to network at a local level and enabling their personal and professional growth. Members will have the opportunity to attend technical presentations, create strong peer-to-peer connections, and participate in leadership to make a positive distinction and differentiation in their jobs and careers. Additionally, we are hoping to increase student membership and overall awareness in electronic packaging technology for the young engineers and scientists.

Goals

Our goals are to provide our members with the highest quality of programs, activities, and services. At a minimum, we are hoping to accomplish the following activities:

— Hold monthly administrative meetings to discuss official matters.
— Facilitate and coordinate professional meetings (1 or 2) to enhance professional development. These may include continuing education, industry relations, professional development activities.
— Conduct, at a minimum, three (3) Technical meetings/workshops/panel discussions to cater to the members’ needs and interests.
— Organize virtual events (e.g., virtual social meeting, brown-bag technical sessions/seminars with local universities, research institutes, and industries professionals).

We can use your help!

We are always open to suggestions for talks or other programs with a focus on electronics packaging. Let us know if you can volunteer to assist us on the Program Committee, as we organize upcoming events.
