Trans Arabian Oil Pipeline Ray Catlett, PE-TX (Inactive), BSEE, MEM St. Louis LMAG Following the 1973 Yom Kipper War, the Shah of Iran is threatening world oil supply by shutting down the Straight of Hormuz. The Saudi’s began development of the Trans Arabian Oil Pipeline to deliver Persian Gulf Oil safely to the Red Sea. Brown & Root, one of the world’s largest construction contractors won the $1.1B design contract for this 700-mile pipeline so large its visible from space.
