2022 IEEE TryEngineering TESI STEM  Career Panel Discussion

Advancing Technology for Humanity in Houston and Around the World.

On Thursday, June 30th, 2022 I asked the question “Can I find some #future STEM Career Innovators in this room today?”

IEEE Houston Section Volunteers and several of our community colleagues from IEEENSBE Process Improvement SIG, ABB, EATON, and other Electrical Industry panelists participated in a STEM #career Panel Discussion at Rice University for the TryEngineering TESI program.

This session had a little less than 40 students 9th – 12th-grade #students from around the world participating in the program with about 50% from outside of Texas. I’m sure the other 50% are from outside of Texas and 1 international student. Thanks to Zacks BBQ for supplying all the fixing and Apple cobbler with ice cream.

The TESI program gives the opportunity to show how engineering can make a difference in the way our world can work better together. Students are able to get a taste of engineering before college, alongside their peers from other schools around the world. It is also a great chance for educators to learn how to tailor their lesson plans to increase their student’s interest in engineering and technology careers.
