All IEEE members are invited to a work session in support of the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology on December 7, 2024 from 10:00AM to 3:00 PM. Lunch at an area restaurant will be provided.
SAMSAT is opening new meeting and exhibit space that will include displays of computing artifacts and the IEEE Armstrong Traveling Exhibit that will open in 2025. Some tasks include touch up painting in the halls, moving stored items and cleaning artifacts.
The museum has a large collection of mechanical and electronic calculators and early computers. Anyone with an interest in the history of computing is welcome to come to the meeting, adopt a specific piece, research the history/significance and help to prepare a display.
