October 22 @ 5:30 pm - October 23 @ 8:30 pm CDT

Workshop: This course provides an in-depth introduction to the fundamentals of AC motor and drive technology, focusing on practical applications, troubleshooting, and hands-on experience.
The course covers the following topics:
Fundamentals: AC Motor Topology & AC Drive Topology, Applications, Normal-Duty & Heavy-Duty, Affinity Laws, Understanding Pump Curves, Constant Horsepower, Application Concerns, and Drive Concerns & Best Practices.
Harmonics Mitigation Techniques: Filters – Diode Front End vs. Active Front End, Reflective Wave – dv/dt, Cable Concerns – VFD Cable, Mitigation Techniques.
Drive Troubleshooting: Understanding Drive Fault Codes, Troubleshooting Lessons, VFD Checks & DC Bus Capacitor Reforming, Hands-On Drive Programming.
This course is ideal for engineers seeking a foundational understanding of AC drives, as well as hands-on experience with troubleshooting and programming tools. Participants are encouraged to bring a digital multimeter with diode check capabilities for the hands-on segment.
