IEEE Volunteer Day for Science Thursday at the Bullock Museum

Congress Avenue, Austin, TX, Texas, United StatesOn Science Thursdays, students from around Texas drop in and explore the Bullock Museum, see demonstrations, and participate in hands-on activities with STEM experts from (http://centexeweek.org/). On May 2, 2024, IEEE Central Texas Section will provide the experts. The CTS STEM Committee is putting together hands-on demonstrations of electrical phenomena for the students -- Jacob's Ladder, hand-cranked electrical power generation, Van de Graaff Generator, etc. Within IEEE this event is hosted by the Central Texas Section Life Member Affinity Group. This is a very enjoyable way for retired engineers to show curious youngsters interesting science. Register to volunteer. John Purvis, [email protected], is the coordinator. Agenda: Meet at the Bullock Museum at 9:45 AM for orientation and to receive your assigned post plus some elementary preparation.
