Abstract:

Bill James with JPods LLC will talk about the elevated highly-automated transportation system that he and his team developed and that Plano, Irving, Arlington and “The COG” (N. Central Texas Council of Governments) are all seriously considering installing.

JPods are rail networks from which ultralight vehicles carry people and cargo using 1/10th the energy of cars, passenger-trains, and buses.

  • What are the policy changes that will allow JPods to build in Plano, Arlington, and Las Colinas?

Speaker Bio:

Bill James graduated from West Point in 1972 with concentrations in Physics and Nuclear Engineering. He is an NCAA All-American wrestler and an Infantry veteran. Bill worked for Honeywell setting up factories in the US and Europe. He is part of the team that brought Just-in-Time and Lean Manufacturing into Honeywell. Bill has founded three companies, one that used computer networks to apply Statistical Process Controls to manufacturing processes; one that applies computer networks to sales and operation processes; and JPods, a company that integrates computer networks to improve the mobility process.
