Leadership-by-Example

Welcome to “Leadership-by-Example.”

This page is a quiet invitation: no forms, no data collection, just honest self-reflection and shared meaning. The first tab — Reflection Questions — offers every member a simple 10-point yes/no checklist to privately gauge their own involvement, mentorship, and willingness to lead. The second tab — STEAM-TEAMS Coin — is a symbolic reference: the familiar compass-/flywheel-style emblem that encodes our core values of mentorship, skill, and mindset. Together, these two tabs reinforce the culture we build — not by mandate, but by example.

Each IEEE member answers Yes or No to themselves.

  1. Am I currently an active and engaged member of the IEEE Pikes Peak Section?

  2. Did I participate in or contribute to at least one IEEE activity this year?

  3. Did I recruit or personally encourage at least one person to join IEEE this year?

  4. Did I mentor (formally or informally) at least one newer or less-engaged member this year?

  5. Did my actions help someone become more active or confident in IEEE?

  6. Did I lead by example rather than waiting to be asked?

  7. Do I know of someone I influenced who is now contributing or mentoring others?

  8. Did my IEEE involvement give me energy rather than drain it?

  9. Did I honestly remove at least one personal barrier to participating this year?

  10. Am I willing to repeat one of these actions next year?

Below is the STEAM-TEAMS Medallion Coin

The STEAM-TEAMS medallion serves as both a leadership compass and a flywheel, quietly distributing energy among members and lowering the barrier for passive members to become active — by example rather than enforcement.
